Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Workato Integration Engineer to join their growing Integration team. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, performance, and stability of their mission-critical business processes automated via the Workato iPaaS platform. The successful candidate will be the primary expert responsible for monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and providing Tier 2/3 support for our production Workato recipes and connectors.
Key Responsibilities1. Integration Monitoring and Operations
- Proactive Monitoring: Establish and maintain comprehensive monitoring dashboards within Workato and integrated third-party tools (e.g., Datadog, Splunk) to track recipe health, performance, and operational status.
- Alert Management: Define, configure, and respond to alerts for integration failures, performance degradation, and data anomalies.
- Health Reporting: Generate and analyze recurring reports on integration health, incident rates, processing times, and platform usage to identify trends and areas for improvement.
2. Performance Tuning and Optimization
- Efficiency Improvement: Analyze slow or resource-intensive recipes and jobs. Implement performance tuning strategies, including optimizing query structures, payload sizes, connector configurations, and rate-limiting practices.
- Scalability: Ensure integrations are designed and tuned to handle current and projected transaction volumes and peak loads efficiently.
- Cost Management: Monitor and manage Workato consumption units, optimizing recipe execution to ensure cost-effective platform usage.
3. Incident Management and Technical Support
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Act as the Tier 2/3 escalation point for all production integration issues, performing deep-dive analysis of failed jobs, data errors, and connectivity problems.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct thorough RCAs for recurring or critical incidents and implement permanent fixes or process changes to prevent recurrence.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and a knowledge base for common integration issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with application owners, development teams, and external vendors to resolve cross-system issues.
4. Platform Maintenance and Governance
- Environment Management: Assist in maintaining DEV, QA, and PROD Workato environments, including managing access, security, and version control.
- Platform Updates: Evaluate and coordinate the testing and deployment of new Workato features and platform updates.
- Best Practices: Enforce organizational governance and Workato best practices across all operational recipes.
Required Qualifications- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an Integration Engineer, DevOps, or Technical Support role, with at least 2 years dedicated to the Workato iPaaS platform.
- Workato Expertise: Deep practical knowledge of Workato components, including Recipes, Connectors (HTTP, SDK), lookup tables, environment variables, and the Job Monitor.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of API protocols (REST, SOAP), authentication methods (OAuth, API keys), and data formats (JSON, XML, CSV).
- Troubleshooting Skills: Proven ability to read and analyze complex logs, debug multi-step workflows, and identify data transformation issues.
- Support Experience: Experience with formal Incident Management processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk).
Preferred Qualifications- Workato Automation Pro I/II or equivalent certification.
- Experience integrating with core enterprise applications (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP, Workday, ServiceNow).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for custom connector development or advanced transformation logic.
